So NaNo started on the 1st of November and I wrote a lot on the first day and then got distracted by school work. I wrote a little more and got to 7,000 on day 5, and I am now current 8,000 words behind.
However... I have a plan.
And that plan is called: Doing nothing but writing after school finishes (with the exception of work).
I will reach 50k this year.
I will.
I will.

The Basic Outlines...
So I have finally finished the basic outlines of my two plots for the two novels I am writing for NaNoWriMo and I thought that I would post up the blurbs...
Novel #1 - The Descent (Dystopian)
By the vote of the citizens of the world, each country made a pact to close it's doors to everyone else and only involve itself with another country for trade, with not one nation inteferring with the personal matters of another. The small country of (insert cool name of country here when I come up with one) took it one step further. Riddled with mysterious powers developed by seemingly ordinary citizens, the same powers that saw the destruction of most of the world just years before, the country is threatened to once again fall into distress as crime and terror rise. It was then that the people voted for all citizens to be subjected to evaluation to determine if they were pure or not. From then on, each citizen was evaluamted at the age of 19, 29 and 39. Those who are deemed unpure were submitted to re-education or disposed of depending on the extent of their crimes against society. Anyone who was discovered to posses magic blood would immediatley be excecuted.
Seventeen year old Latvia Rein prides herself in the good life she has lived, and knows that when her time for evaluation comes, she will have nothing to worry about. For the most part, she just gets to enjoy being a normal teenager. School, work and fun times with her friends. However, things change when her best friend reveals to her a secret that changes the way Latvia regards her life. When Adelina reveals the forbidden powers she has, Latvia doesn't hesitate to turn her in, warranting the excecution of her best friend. Determined to move on with her own life, Latvia tries to forget what she has done, but her grief and regret at her desicion plunge her into despair, prompting her own powers to be revealed, endangering her life. In her attempt to block out her powers, Latvia becomes caught up in a plot to rebel against the rules of her country and becomes determined to stop it, while masquerading as a rebel herself for the purpose of learning how to cover up her powers before she can be caught out.
WORDCOUNT GOAL: 60,000 Words

Novel #2 - The Clockwork of Her Soul (Steampunk/Fantasy)
When she was six years old, Briowyn was involved in an accident that almost claimed her life and as a result, her parents pulled her out of school and secluded her at home, to protect from the horrible world around her. Now sixteen, Briowyn has rarely gone outside of her home, only accompanied by her parents on very rare occasions, and twice she snuck out. When her parents don't come home one night, she is greeted by a police officer in the morning, informing her of their deaths in a similar accident to what almost claimed her life years before.
Briowyn is handed over to one of her relatives who didn't even know that she existed, having been told that she had died when she was very young.
Confronted with the world she had been hiden from, she discovers the research her parents had left behind and the imapct that they had had on society. In a town with the ability to cheat death, nothing is as it seems, especially when an experiment of her parents begins to make itself known - Briowyn herself.
WORDCOUNT GOAL: 50,000 Words
I am really hoping to finish both of these this year, but if I don't, I'm hoping to at least finish one. Basically, I will count this year as a win if I finish one out of the two novels.

Embers
I am very much addicted to this song right now...
I'll post up a link later to the youtube video.
This is like great writing music for me. I could probably write a whole novel while just listening to this on repeat.

"Embers"
There were days when each hour was a war I fought to survive
There were nights full of nightmares and I dreaded closing my eyes
There were skies that burst open with a downpour to drown me alive
But the world took a spark like a match in the dark
And the fire brought me to life
So I'm fanning the flames to climb so high
'Cause theres no other way we can stay alive
'Cause we're burning bright
As we all unite
And when it's all said and done
We'll shine like the sun
So don't let the fire die
And we'll watch the sky
As it fills with light
And though the embers are new
Whatever you do, just don't let the fire die
And you'll find there'll be mornings
When the ashes and embers are cold
But you'll fight with a passion
And you'll never stop 'cause you know
Yeah you know, it gets better
And your story is yet to be told
Every push, every shove, every war, every love
Yeah, the coals are beginning to glow
So I'm fanning the flames to climb so high
'Cause theres no other way we can stay alive
'Cause we're burning bright
As we all unite
And when it's all said and done
We'll shine like the sun
So don't let the fire die
And we'll watch the sky

Don't let the fire die

School
I have like four weeks of school left before exams and then I graduate on November 16th.
I'm so tired of it all. I've spent the last twelve years of my life being educated in things I'm never going to study again and I'm so sick of it.
In some ways, this four weeks seems really close, but in other aspects of my mind it seems like it is going on forever.
Tick tock tick tock.
I just want it to end now.
I can't wait for University, for travelling and doing all the things that I want to do: not what the school wants me to do. School has been holding me back from all this for the last twelve years, and I seriously believe that I could have learnt everything that I've learnt (the meaningful stuff anyway) in about ten years instead of twelve.
I just want it to be over so I can really get into my life.
Four weeks...
So close.

Two Novels...?
So, I'm pretty sure that I'm going to be insane for NaNoWriMo this year.
Two novles?
I had another idea in addition to my current NaNo novel that basically refused to be ignored. I'm pretty sure that I don't want to ignore it, and I want to start writing it now, but I also want to write my current NaNo...
So...
I'm thinking of two novels (aiming for 50k - 80k each) with a cumulative total of 100k up to 160k.
Yeah, I'm crazy.
Crazy, crazy, crazy.
That is all.

Photography / Sky
So I was just going through some of the photos I just uploaded to my computer and I decided I would post something on here. Anyway, I have this slight obsession with taking photos of the sky, sometimes in combination with other things, so here are my favourites.
Writing Plots
So, despite my last post, I'm going to put my cyborgs aside and fully plot out my NaNoWriMo novel. I finally decided on the novel I'm writing, which was a plot that I've had for about six months in my mind. I tried writing a few chapters a couple of months ago and liked where it was going but didn't have time to pursue it. I'm going to ditch the chapters I've already written though, and re write them with the new ideas I have developed for this story.
Again, it's Dystopian. I find myself going through quite an obsession. Oh well, I'm enjoing all things Dystopian and I'm not quite ready to move on yet.
Ah, I'm so keen for November. I'm looking forward to the forum reset for NaNo, so I can really start talking about this year and not be surrounded by 2011 posts. I found someone who I have a lot in common with to be a Writing Buddy for this year so I'm really looking forward to seeing how that goes. I think it'll help me be a little more motivated, and take November a little more seriously.

Rewriting...
About a year ago, maybe even a year and a half ago, I started writing a novel called 'The Outsiders'. It's a dystopian novel, because of the current phase I'm going through, about I wrote about 30,000 words in a big writing spaz I went through. Then I got bored and put it aside got bored and put it aside for a while so work on numerous other things that were much more pressing at the time. I started to work on it again a few months ago, got it up to 50,000 and then stopped writing again.
I was sick of what I was writing because it had a plot that had just started to fall apart and I kind of wanted to kick it to death for lack of originality. Now, a few days ago, I got a new idea for the story and decided to start again.
Now, for the first time ever, I am going to brave the world of COMPLETE REWRITING! I've re-designed a lot of the characters an rebuilt the main plot into a dystopian cyborg story. At currently 50,000 words, my estimate is that about 25,000 are actually useable but at least I have something that I can start with.
It's currently September and I am on school holidays for two weeks, and I'm aiming to have this finished (first draft at least) before November 1st because November is the month that I will devote to NaNoWriMo and a completely new project that is undecided at the current point of times
Ideally, I might even have the first draft done in two weeks, because I would really like to devote the majority of October to NaNoWriMo planning and of course, actual NaNoWriMo writing in November, before I start the editing on 'The Outsiders' in December.
So, now I'm off to start Re-Writing and I really hope that Dystopian Cyborgs serve me much better then the mess that I've currently got.
